Great to get a message from the Annabel Williams Studio today to say that I won their Creative Christmas competition. You're never really sure whether to enter these things but I'm glad to say that I did and it paid off as I won a lovely selection of prizes, including champagne - which is always well received :-) A great start to the year. Had a lovely time in Cumbria this week attending the Annabel Williams Photographic Awards. My fellow photographers and I had a great time eating, drinking and getting very merry! A big thank you to Annabel for a very memorable evening.
I won a "highly commended" in the category of Fine Art, which I was really pleased about considering they had in excess of 700 entries. Here's what they had to say:
"Haywards Heath based photographer Sarah Wright has been highly commended in the category of Fine Art in the 2007 Annabel Williams Photographic Awards.
The awards which include support from companies such as Canon (UK) Ltd, Leach Colour, Queensberry, DSLR Photography magazine and Hospes Amerigo were given at a prestigious ceremony on 1st May in Cumbria and were presented by renowned photographer Annabel Williams and Canon UK representative Ashley Ollett.
Annabel Williams commented, “Sarah’s photography is stunning and stylish, her images have a tone that draws your eye and holds it whilst you stay with the image admiring its powerful creativity.”
I must also congratulate my friend Stuart Cooper from Cooper Photography for winning best wedding album and also wish him much happiness as he marries the lovely Anna today. Well done Stuart! x
